The YGN Prize for Outstanding Contribution
Adrian Bull - Head of Media & Stakeholder Relations for Westinghouse in Europe, Middle East & Africa; has been named by the YGN as the 2011 recipient of our Outstanding Contribution Award. The award is presented annually by the YGN to a person who we consider has made an outstanding contribution to the industry, with particular focus on the development of younger people and support to YGN activities.
Making the announcement at the Annual Dinner of the Nuclear Institute and Nuclear Industry Association, Connor Deehan of NUKEM technologies, 2011 YGN Chair, said:
"Adrian has always been more than willing to present at our events, engage with our members, share his knowledge and provide all around support to the YGN. He's always encouraged younger members to get involved and has been described as "a modern man" of the industry - approachable by all. His enthusiasm for all aspects of the industry has been an inspiration across the YGN committee. I am delighted to announce Adrian as the 2011 winner of our Outstanding Contribution Award and I would like to personally thank him for his tremendous assistance this year, including his participation in many of our seminars and Rough Guide events."
Adrian Bull commented: "The YGN is a fantastic organisation, and it's clear to me that the talented and enthusiastic people in the YGN are among those who are key to securing a successful long-term future for the UK's nuclear industry. I'm lucky that Westinghouse have always been exceptionally supportive of YGN and have encouraged my participation in many YGN events over recent years. To be recognised through this award is incredibly flattering and I am very proud and honoured to receive it. I look forward to working with YGN for many years to come."
Mike Tynan, Vice President of Westinghouse for UK, Middle East and Egypt said: "This is a tremendous accolade for Adrian, and well deserved. Adrian is deeply committed to the development of young people in the UK Nuclear Industry and has proved to be an outstanding role model, setting the highest standards for messages about the safety and value of nuclear power as world energy source. I am proud to work with Adrian and myself and colleagues are thrilled that he has received such a prestigious award".
